Plugin Privacy

1. Overview

During the purchase process in the online store you use, you have the opportunity to make a financial contribution (donation) to support the fair collection and recycling of plastic waste. The donation will be collected by the online store and held in trust. To carry out this donation, the Online Shop uses the app "precycle Plug-in" (hereinafter: "Plugin"). In the course of the payment process, precycle.today also collects data of the customers of the respective online store. Here we inform you whether and if so which personal data we collect and process in the context of the aforementioned payment process.

The following definitions apply here:

  • "Personal data" are, according to Art. 4 No. 1 DSGVO, all information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person ("data subject"). This includes, for example, the name, address, date of birth, e-mail address and telephone number.
  • "Processing" means, pursuant to Art. 4 No. 2 DSGVO, any operation or set of operations which is performed upon personal data, whether or not by automatic means (e.g. collection, storage, use or disclosure).
  • "Controller" is, according to Art. 4 No. 7 DSGVO, the natural or legal person, public authority, agency or other body which alone or jointly with others determines the purposes and means of the processing of personal data.

2. Scope of Application

This privacy policy applies exclusively in the context of the use of the plugin by the customer of the online store. With regard to the use of our website, the privacy policy found in precycle.today/privacy applies. For the use of the online store, we refer to their privacy policy.

4. Processing of data of the use of the plugin

a) Through each interaction with the plugin, the following data is transmitted to us:

Type and purposes of data processing:

The storage of this data serves first of all the purpose of permanently guaranteeing system security and stability and enabling technical administration, thus ensuring trouble-free connection establishment and operation of our plugin as well as its comfortable use. In addition, this data is evaluated for internal administrative and statistical purposes in order to improve our plugin. A combination of this data with other data or data sources that would allow conclusions about a person is not made.

Legal basis:

The legal basis for this processing is Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 letter f) DSGVO. With this data processing, we pursue the legitimate interest of maintaining the operational security of our plugin in order to be able to provide this website as well as the information contained therein in a trouble-free and convenient manner.

b) The following data is transmitted to us as part of the checkout process:

General data:

  • Customer ID
  • Zip code of the customer
  • Time of the checkout
  • Total amount of the purchase
  • List of items in the shopping cart

Data related to the items:

  • Quantity
  • Unit price
  • Name of the item
  • Article ID

Type and purposes of data processing:

We store this data in order to create usage profiles. The purpose of these usage profiles is to carry out advertising/market research and needs-based design of the plugin. The profiles also serve to evaluate and analyse the use of our plugin and user behaviour. Furthermore, it is important for us to learn whether customers purchase items that contain plastic.

However, the data does not give any conclusions about the person of the customer. The data is completely anonymous. An identification of the respective customer is not possible. An assignment of the customer ID to a person can only be made by the respective online store. However, the respective online store is contractually prohibited from forwarding personal data to us.

Legal basis:

The legal basis for this processing is Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 letter f) DSGVO. Our legitimate interest follows from the purposes for data collection listed above. In no case do we use the collected data for the purpose of drawing conclusions about your person.

5. Your data subject rights

You have the following rights regarding the processing of your personal data:

5.1 Right to information (Art. 15 DSGVO).

You have the right to request information about your personal data processed by us. In particular, you can request information about the processing purposes, the categories of personal data, the categories of recipients to whom your data has been or will be disclosed, the planned storage period, the existence of a right to rectification, erasure, restriction of processing or objection, the existence of a right of complaint, the origin of your data if it has not been collected by us, and the existence of automated decision-making, including profiling, and, if applicable, meaningful information about its details.

5.2 Right to rectification (Art. 16 DSGVO).

You have the right to request without delay the correction of data relating to you that we have stored incorrectly or to request its completion, insofar as we have stored it incompletely.

5.3 Right to deletion (Art. 17 DSGVO)

You have the right to request the erasure of your personal data stored by us, unless the processing is necessary for the exercise of the right to freedom of expression and information, for compliance with a legal obligation, for reasons of public interest or for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.

5.4 Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 DSGVO).

You have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data, insofar as the accuracy of the data is disputed by you, insofar as the processing is unlawful, but you refuse the erasure of the data, insofar as we no longer need the data, but you need them for the assertion, exercise or defence of legal claims, or insofar as you have objected to the processing in accordance with Art. 21 DSGVO.

5.5 Right to data portability (Art. 20 DSGVO).

You have the right to receive your personal data that you have provided to us in a structured, common and machine-readable format or to request that it be transferred to another controller.

5.6. right to revoke consent given at any time (Art. 7 para. 3 in conjunction with Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 letter a) or Art. 9 para. 2 letter a) DSGVO).

You have the right to revoke your consent at any time. This has the consequence that we may no longer continue the data processing based on this consent in the future, unless it can be based on another legal basis.

5.7 Right of complaint to a supervisory authority (Art. 77 DSGVO in conjunction with Section 19 BDSG 2018).

You have the right to complain to a supervisory authority if you believe that the processing of your personal data violates the DSGVO. As a rule, you can contact the supervisory authority of your usual place of residence or workplace or our company headquarters for this purpose.

5.8 Right of objection (Art. 21 DSGVO).

If we process data relating to you on the basis of legitimate interests, you could object to this on grounds arising from your particular situation. In addition, you can object to data processing if we carry it out for direct marketing purposes.
